William Demant, a leading global company in hearing healthcare is currently seeking a Senior Accountant in Somerset, NJ.  William Demant is the umbrella for a number of independent companies including Oticon Inc. within hearing care and treatment of hearing loss.

The responsibility of this role is to act as the primary accountant representative of the Finance Project Team.  This person will support various process improvement projects and corporate initiatives for the Finance Department. The majority of the projects will be Conversion and Acquisition based. This position is expected to perform at a high level of accountability and reliability of work.



  • Communicate with potential business associates to gather necessary financial data prior to acquisition
  • Analyze data to determine valuations for upcoming acquisitions
  • Generate monthly financial reporting
  • Manage annual payout schedule and execute communication and payment after proper analyzation of production against goals
  • Facilitate inventory management through monthly inventory counts and reconciliation to balance sheet
  • Reconcile post acquisition Accounts Receivable balances due to the prior owner
  • Ensure that newly acquired companies maintain the company policies and operating procedures as they pertain to finance
  • Represent the Finance Department in frequent systems conversions projects through data analysis, financial statement data conversion, and hypercare support
  • Represent the Finance Department in any official project through communication, analysis, accounting, report preparation, and overall ownership of financial responsibilities
  • Ad Hoc Analysis for executive management
  • Analyze current and past trends in various KPI metrics



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3-5 years working in the Accounting/Finance field
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (manipulation and creation of Pivot Tables and utilization of V-Lookups & Sum-Ifs)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results driven
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced organization
  • Ability to work with executive management
  • Dedication to continuous self and process improvement


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with documenting business process flows strongly preferred
  • Experience working with IT to develop requirements and test technology solutions a plus
  • Must possess strong analytical ability and experience manipulating data sets to identify anomalies
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (AX, Navision) or similar accounting packages
  • Experience with managing workload with quick turnaround time
  • Experience working in a company that has many entities under one umbrella
  • Familiar with balancing intercompany transactions
  • Experience with data warehouse cubes and manipulation of those databases
  • Experience with Microsoft Jet Reports
  • Experience with Excel Macros
