Overview

The Product Manager proactively manages a portfolio of products by analyzing customer behaviors, technology trends, sales behaviors, support issues, competitive analyses and product usage patterns to guide the organization in future product planning, as well as current day to day product marketing.

Responsibilities

Includes the following; however other duties may be assigned:

    • Plans, directs, and coordinates product introductions to all company departments, including sales team and leaders
    • Interacts cross-departmentally with key business functions including: Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Audiology and worldwide headquarters to ensure company products continue to deliver highest levels of customer satisfaction
    • Actively tracks and analyzes sales growth, supply issues, quality issues and provides regular feedback of product portfolio performance to management
    • Identify key competitors; understand and analyze competitive market environment and act to position Oticon as the preferred supplier
    • Develops and presents training materials for both internal and external customers
    • Work with channel and consumer marketing management to develop marketing tools and promotional campaigns
    • Close collaboration with the Sales Department to identify and communicate product issues, updates, enhancements to the marketplace
    • Interfaces regularly with customers and sales staff via field travel and major meetings to determine market needs
    • Ability to travel 20% of time domestically and internationally

Necessary Skill Set/Qualities:

  • Understands business/portfolio planning, tactical implementation of product introductions, as well as commercialization processes in both B2B and branded environments
  • Ability to edit and develop product support elements, communications, and training materials.
  • Provide guidance to staff and field sales team
  • Strong project management skills
  • Self-starter and collaborative team player; self-motivated with high level of energy, ability to work with limited supervision and demonstrate business maturity in areas of decision-making and conflict resolution
  • Strict attention to detail; work well under pressure while meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite

 

Education And/Or Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in science, marketing or business)
  • Master’s/Au.D. in Audiology or MBA preferred.
  • Background in hearing healthcare, medical device product/project management experience preferred
  • 2 years of experience in medical devices or hearing healthcare marketing/sales.
  • Experience developing marketing and training materials are preferred skills.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
